At what age would be appropriate to start young netball players specialising in playing just 1 position?

At what age would you consider appropriate to start young netball players specialising in playing just one position???

personally i think that they shouldnt specialise in just one position as for county etc they should be able to show confidence in at least 3!

Children should be taught all the skills of netball in junior years. When they reach 11 or 12 they can begin to specialise in defence, attack or centre court. This way they have experience in playing several position. I often find that children develop their own prefernces naturally by this age. Watching the way they move their feet, use their eyes and their general balance will help you decide which area of the court they are best suited.
