  • Dip head and shoulder more than for the off or straight drive and let the ball come through.
  • Open leading shoulder to point at straight mid on, so hip opens slightly, allowing the bat to swing through.
  • Take a short stride towards the ball, stand tall on balls of feet and point the toe of front foot directly up the wicket.
  • Plant foot down the line of leg stump - no wider.
  • Stand tall, get up onto toes with weight on front foot and head forward and directly above body - eyes level.
  • As the bat swings through the line of the ball, work hard to maintain :- Dominant top hand, Relaxed fingers and thumb bottom hand grip, Diamond shape with arms, High hands, Hands forward of bat face on impact.

What you say

"Sportplan is fantastic. I can now track all my coaches’ sessions from one season to the next and make adjustments where we feel they are needed. The drills are easy to view and all aspects of the game are covered. My sessions have become more focussed and better planned thanks to Sportplan."
