Off the ball screen, practiced in a closed situation.

In threes players set up in a triangle.

player at the top passes the ball in either direction then sets the screen the opposite way. in the diagram 1 passes to 3 and sets a screen for player 2. 2 curls round towards the basket and receives a pass from player 3 to shoot a lay-up. collects the lay up and passes to either player and sets the a screen.

Coaching Points

  • Setting the screen:
  • good posture feet more than shoulder width apart
  • very slight lean forward weight on balls of yor feet screening angle is making a right angle to the direction of the cut.
  • Arms can either be crossed over chest or straight down with hands together.
  • Coming off the screen: Player coming off the screen must not move until the screen has been set. they then must brush shoulders with the person setting the screen and curl towards the basket.
